This summer we will be holding 2 weeks of summer camps for kids aged 7-12. These will be taking place at the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Grounds from 9am-3pm, the same land our Forest Preschool program takes place. Join us for one or both of these weeks. (See below) Get outside and learn how to make fire, tie knots, carve spoons, identify plants, learn bird language, play fun games , connect with nature through all of our senses, and so much more!


Week 1: June 26-30 9am-3pm – $250 +$25 materials fee FULL (Waitlist)
- Monday: Animals (From predators to prey to pollinators, learn how our ecosystems are influenced by the animals that inhabit them through games, art, animal bones and skins.)
- Tuesday: Habitats (Learn about several habitats in Oregon, from the Oak Savanna of the Willamette Valley to the High Desert of Central and Eastern Oregon.)
- Wednesday: Ancestral Skills (We all come from a past that utilized natural materials for everyday living. Learn how to make friction fires with only natural materials, make natural cordage, make shelters, landscape awareness, tracking and much more)
- Thursday: Ancestral Skills (A continuation and building upon skills from Wednesday)
- Friday: Water!!! (Let’s explore the section of the Mary’s River that is on the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo property through small boat making, wading and splashing, and learn about the water cycle through games and art.)
Week 2: July 17-21 9am-3pm – $250 +$25 materials fee FULL (Waitlist)
- Monday: Plants (How do plants impact our ecosystems? Explore the complex and interesting world of plants through games, art, and plant identification)
- Tuesday: Astronomy (Even though it will be light out lets create constellations, learn about the moon and other celestial bodies, and more with our Solar System Ambassador staff member.)
- Wednesday: Ancestral Skills (We all come from a past that utilized natural materials for everyday living. Learn how to make friction fires with only natural materials, make natural cordage, make shelters, landscape awareness, tracking and much more)
- Thursday: Ancestral Skills (A continuation and building upon skills from Wednesday)
