Summer Camps

Fern & Feather will be holding summer camps in the summer of 2025 for kids aged 7-12! Join us as we explore the natural world through games, art, observations, bushcraft and more. Every camp will have a different theme that we will dive into throughout the week.

Bushcraft Week: June 23-27  9am-3pm – $300 +$25 materials fee Location: Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Grounds

Come discover essential skills learned by our ancestors who used the natural materials around them to live. Learn to make fire utilizing natural materials, build shelter, tie knots, and other self-reliance skills.

Nature Exploration Week 1: July 7-11  9am-3pm – $300 +$25 materials fee Location: Corvallis Waldorf School

Nature is made up of many fascinating and exciting things. Come join us as we explore many different topics throughout the week.  These explorations will be done through hands-on activities including, art, crafts,​ building, games, and ​free play.  Some of the different areas we will explore interactively include plants, astronomy, geology, geography, weather patterns, wild and cultivated food, navigation and more. Each of our three ‘Nature Exploration’ weeks will be different from each other.

Water Week: August 4-8  9am-3pm – $300 +$25 materials fee Location: Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Grounds

Water is essential for all living things to survive. Come explore part of the Mary’s River found on the Philomath Frolic and Rodeo property through wading and splashing, small boat making, and investigating the creatures that live under the surface.

Animal Week: August 11-15  9am-3pm – $300 +$25 materials fee Location: Corvallis Waldorf School

The natural world is full of animals that live together to create a cohesive ecosystem. From tiny pollinators to gigantic mammals, come explore the world of animals and their habitats through animal bones and skins, investigating animal tracks, and more.

Shorashim (Roots)  in the Forest: August 18-22 9am-3pm – $300+ $25 materials fee Location: Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Grounds.

This joyful forest camp for rising 7-14 year olds is where Jewish tradition meets nature adventures, creativity, and community. Jewish and Non-Jewish children are welcome to join this experience.  Each day, campers will sing, explore, build, craft, and play their way through a week of discovery grounded in Jewish values and rooted in the natural world.

For children aged 12-14 we are offering a Junior Counselor in Training track with mentor training, leadership opportunities, and teen conversation.  Whether your child loves crafting, climbing, singing, storytelling—or just being outside—this is a place where they can belong, bloom, and shine.
